The Olympic Museum - The Wayfarer

With the Brazil 2016 Olympics looming, interest in the games as a whole has been piqued and reinvigorated as it often is around the time of an Olympic season, so what better time than now to show you the Olympic Museum?  It is home to one of the most extensive repositories of Olympic memorabilia and is located in the Swiss city of  Lausanne, which has gained worldly notoriety for being the Olympic capital of the world.  If you are a big fan of the games then it is the place to go.

The International Olympic Committee was set in up back in 1915 in Lausanne and the city has played host to it for around 100 years, so it is a very fitting location for this museum to be.  The Olympic Museum was fully refurbished in 2012 and as such it is very modern and slick inside, comprising of a fascinating range of both permanent and temporary exhibitions.

After spending a good couple of hours looking around the exhibition (which I would recommend allowing time for) we headed top floor to the TOM Cafe to grab something to eat.

The TOM cafe is worth visiting alone for its stunning panoramic views of Lake Geneva and the Alps, as well as the museum's grounds.  The food is also very tasty indeed.
